Steve Jobs was an American entrepreneur and business magnate who co-founded Apple Inc. He is widely recognised as a pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his contributions to the development of the Macintosh, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
Jobs was born in San Francisco in 1955, and Paul and Clara Jobs adopted him. He attended Reed College in Portland, Oregon, but dropped out after just one semester. He then spent time travelling and experimenting with drugs before returning to California in the early 1970s.
In 1976, Jobs co-founded Apple Inc. with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne in the Jobs family garage. The company quickly became a major player in the personal computer industry, and Jobs oversaw the development of several groundbreaking products, including the Macintosh and the iPod.
In 1985, Jobs was forced out of Apple after a power struggle with the company's board of directors. He then founded NeXT Inc., a computer hardware and software company that was eventually acquired by Apple in 1997.
After returning to Apple, Jobs oversaw the development of several hugely successful products, including the iPhone and the iPad. He was known for his exacting standards and his ability to create products that were both aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly.
Jobs passed away in 2011 at the age of 56. He is remembered as a visionary entrepreneur who transformed the technology industry and left a lasting legacy on modern culture.
