Inclusive language

Inclusive language is language that is designed to be respectful and sensitive to all individuals, regardless of their background or identity. Inclusive language avoids language that is discriminatory, stigmatising, or marginalising and instead seeks to create an environment that is welcoming and inclusive for all.

Inclusive language can take many different forms, from using gender-neutral language to avoiding language that reinforces harmful stereotypes or prejudices. Inclusive language can also be a tool for promoting diversity and social justice and can help create a more equitable and inclusive society.

To use inclusive language, it's important to be mindful of the words and phrases you use and to take steps to avoid using language that may be offensive or exclusionary. This may involve using gender-neutral pronouns, avoiding stereotypes and slurs, and being respectful of individuals' chosen identities and cultural backgrounds.
