Sustainability refers to the practise of meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. In mental self-help, sustainability can be applied to personal behaviour and lifestyle choices in order to reduce the impact on the environment and promote long-term wellbeing.

In mental self-help, sustainability can also refer to the practise of self-care and self-preservation. By practising sustainability in our personal lives, we can reduce stress and promote long-term mental and physical wellbeing. This can include practising mindfulness, reducing work hours, or engaging in regular physical activity.
