Subliminal stimuli

Subliminal stimuli refer to sensory information that is presented below the threshold of conscious awareness. It is believed that the subconscious mind processes these stimuli, which can be visual, auditory, or even olfactory.

In mental self-help, subliminal stimuli are often used as a tool to promote positive change. For example, subliminal messages in the form of affirmations can be embedded in audio recordings or visual displays, which are then played repeatedly to the listener or viewer. The subconscious mind can pick up on these messages and integrate them into its programming, promoting positive beliefs and behaviours.

However, the effectiveness of subliminal stimuli in promoting positive change is still a matter of debate in the scientific community. While some studies have shown that subliminal stimuli can influence behaviour, other studies have found little to no effect.

It is important to note that subliminal stimuli can also be used for negative purposes, such as in advertising or political campaigns, where they can be used to manipulate people's beliefs and behaviours without their conscious awareness.
